Forma: first semi-circular to broadly conical, then bell-shaped, many umbrella-shaped at the end, but never flat.

Culoare: from beige-yellow to cinnamon, with a light brown surface, shiny when dry. When wet, they become dark reddish brown.

Suprafață: soft grooved when damp, torn and scaly when dry, especially in older specimens.
