Plutey noble (T. Pluteus petasatus) refers to mushrooms of the genus Plyutei and among mushroom pickers is considered conditionally an edible mushroom. It differs from other mushrooms of this genus in a lighter and smoother hat to the touch. It is considered predominantly a forest mushroom.

It has a thick-fleshed hat with a depression in the center and a diameter of up to fifteen centimeters. The edges of the cap can be either flat or tucked. The grayish surface of the cap in the center is covered with pressed brown scales. Wide cap plates have a pinkish color. The cylindrical stem has an expanded base with a fibrous coating. The cotton-like mushroom pulp has a sweetish taste and a pleasant mushroom smell.

This mushroom most often grows on stumps and under various deciduous trees. Moist shady soil is considered a favorite place for growth. Plyutei can grow both singly and in small crowded groups. It is found in both lowland and mountain forests.

The growth activity of the fungus takes place twice: in early summer and early autumn. In the highlands, the mushroom grows only in the middle of summer.

The noble whip is common and known in many countries, and even on some islands. It occurs quite rarely and most often in groups. The fungus also grows in various regions.

The mushroom is edible and is used in the preparation of first and second courses. It has a rather interesting peculiar aroma and pleasant taste. It is a low-calorie product with a large amount of protein. It contains lecithin in its composition, which prevents the accumulation of such harmful substances as cholesterol in the human body. According to its qualities, it is well appreciated by amateurs and professional mushroom pickers.
