Zara and H&M are committed to a good cause and disadvantaged children!

While the Spanish group that owns the Zara brand has decided to come to the aid of Syrian refugees, the Swedish giant H&M has just launched a new collection for newborns for the benefit of UNICEF. We say bravo!

The Inditex group, owner of the Zara brand, is committed to the families of Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Indeed, according to “Huffpost espanol”, the group has decided to donate all its unsold stocks, ie around 20 items remaining from its previous collections. Estimated value of the goods: 800 euros!

The NGOs PETA and Life for Relief and Development will very soon begin distributing the clothes in question.

As stated in a statement by PETA, an organization dedicated to the defense of animals, the products will be delivered to villages located near the Lebanese city of Tripoli, in the Bekaa plain, as well as to the refugee camps of Majdal Anjar, Mar Elias, Sawiri and Al-Mjar.

After the case of the collapse of a building on April 24, 2013, where more than 3 textile workers worked and which caused the death of 000 people, including Zara employees, the brand may be trying to redeem a pipe. We can only salute this good deed. In fact, last month, Inditex decided to stop the exploitation of wool from angora rabbits in response to the mistreatment of rabbits in China. An approach also noticed by PETA. “Inditex’s donation helps make this world a more caring place for refugees and rabbits,” said Ingrid E. Newkirk, president of the organization.

H&M: A NEWBORN COLLECTION TO BENEFIT UNICEF

If Zara has decided to offer its remaining stocks to Syrian refugees, H&M, the Swedish giant, launched, on March 12, the New Born Exclusive collection for Spring 2015. To discover: small sets and combinations in pretty colors and ultra comfortable for Baby’s first months. A collection in organic cotton with some suede pieces like little ballerinas. In total, there are 26 girls and boys models combined, sold between 7,99 and 19,99 euros, to shop (only) on the H & M site. And don’t hesitate, it’s for a good cause: for each item purchased, H&M donates to UNICEF. Each donation helps support vaccination, especially against polio among children in poor countries. In September 2014, H&M had already launched a New Born Exclusive collection. Initiatives to be renewed more often!
