Descriere:

Hat 2-3 (4) cm in diameter, at first conical or bell-shaped with a whitish cobweb coverlet, dark brown with a purple tint above, then prostrate, tuberculate, sometimes with a sharp tubercle, fibrous-velvety, hygrophanous, brown-brown, brown-purple , bluish-purple, with a dark, blackish tubercle and a whitish edge, in wet weather dark brown with a black tubercle, when dried – grayish-brownish, rusty-brown with a dark middle and edge of the cap.

The plates are rare, wide, thin, adherent notched or toothed, first pale brown, then bluish-purple with a red tint, chestnut brown, rusty brown.

Spore powder brown, cocoa color.

Leg 4-5 (6) cm long and about 0,5 cm in diameter, cylindrical, uneven, hollow inside, longitudinally fibrous, with whitish silky fibers, without bands, whitish-brownish, pinkish-brown, pale purple-brown, at a young age with a purple tint at the top.

The pulp is dense, thin, brownish, with a pleasant smell (according to the literature, with the smell of lilac).

Spread:

Bright red cobweb grows from the end of May to the end of June (according to some sources until October) in deciduous (linden, birch, oak) and mixed forests (birch, spruce), in wet places, on the soil, in grass, in small groups, rarely .

Asemănarea:

The bright red cobweb is similar to the brilliant cobweb, from which it differs in fruiting time, the absence of belts on the leg and red-purple shades of color.

Evaluare:

The edibility of the fungus Cobweb bright red is not known.

Notă:

Some mycologists considered one species with the Chestnut Cobweb, growing in autumn, in August-September in the same forests.
