Decor de apartamente DIY: gunoi și gunoi

Using garbage as a craft material is a fashionable trend in the West, inspired by concern for nature and harsh environmental conditions. Environmentalists are urging gullible Americans and Europeans not to throw away old plastic bottles and light bulbs, because they de-pollute water, soil and the atmosphere at the same time. So overseas designers rushed to make furniture, decor and even appliances from various household waste.

But, of course, the method itself was not born yesterday and not because of the fashion for ecology. Many of us use a thing that has already become obsolete, it is a simple necessity that forces us. How many times have you wanted to finally clear the balcony or mezzanine from the rubble of old clothes, furniture and other items of sometimes unknown purpose? But the thought “What if it’ll come in handy” didn’t let me do it. So: we claim that it will come in handy for sure. Especially if you follow the example of the designers and use their simple techniques.

One of the most popular home design consumables is sticle de plastic… Cheap and versatile. The easiest way is to use it as a disposable tableware: cut off the bottom, clean the edges so as not to cut yourself, and decorate the top with multi-colored threads or beads – who doesn’t mind what. We put it on the table and use it as a vase for sweets, cookies and other little things.

Moving on. After the bottles, you can take up transparent banks – plastic or glass, which are usually left over from coffee, mushrooms, purchased cucumbers and so on. We clean the jar from the label and fill it to the edges with the following mixture: raw white rice, pieces of colored paper, buttons, foil or beads. The ingredients may vary depending on what you need to discard. A more expensive option is to fill the jar with coffee beans. But this is for an amateur and a specific interior.

Old disks can also be used. If the CD or DVD is scratched or you are not particularly interested in the files on it, you can make a cup holder out of the disc. To do this, you will need felt-tip pens (or gouache with sparkles) and ordinary rhinestones (25 rubles per bag in any sewing store). Well, then only your imagination works. Such coasters are easy to store, they do not take up much space and will not swell from hot water. Just try not to paint the center of the disc where the cup will sit, otherwise the paint will quickly peel off and remain on your dishes.

Unnecessary glasses can be turned into … frame for photo… If you want to put your photos on a table, glasses are the perfect stand. The temples will keep them upright. To insert a photo into them, we lean the glasses against the cardboard and draw a circle with a pencil to make a stencil. Cut out a stencil with a slightly smaller radius, taking into account the thickness of the frame. Next, cut out the desired fragment of the photo using a stencil and insert it on the inside of the glasses. If you cut your photos well, they will fit snugly under the glass themselves. If not, use small pieces of tape to secure them from the back to the temples and crossbar. And turn on artistic thinking: for example, cut out the faces of people from two different photos so that they look at each other from the glasses.

Dacă te-ai săturat de tine old wall clock, you can update them using a computer keyboard that has become unusable. The numbers are removed from the watch dial (these are either stickers or a layer of paint), and the keys F1, F2, F3 and so on up to F12 are glued in their place. The keys are quite easily removed from the keyboard using a screwdriver or a knife – just pry the plastic case hard enough, and it will remain in your hands. The author of the idea is designer Tiffany Threadgold (see photo gallery).

cutii de conserve from under beer or other drinks can be used as an original vase. To do this, an even number of cans – preferably 6 or 8 – must be glued together so that they form a rectangle (the usual arrangement of cans in a package). This can be done using ordinary all-purpose glue, or by placing a special plate on top of the cans (see photo gallery). We cut the plate out of thin plastic using a cutter, use the same cans as a stencil. By itself, such a vase does not look very attractive, but if you insert one flower into each jar, you get real beauty. The author of the idea is a group of Atypik designers.

Old bulky speakers from a Soviet-made turntable can be turned into an original design element by pasting them with colored cloth. The well-known checkered string bags are ideal. Matter – more than enough: such a “bag” is probably lying on the balcony of every third Russian. Not satisfied with checkered colors? Then you can use old sheets, curtains, tablecloths – in general, anything you like, as long as it pleases the eye. Just remember to leave a hole for the speakers when pasting, otherwise your speakers will look like simple colored boxes.
