Cum să înveți rapid un copil cunoștințe noi?

Often parents are faced with the fact that it is difficult for children to master some skills. Training takes a lot of effort from all participants in the process. Today, the Finnish model of education comes to the rescue. By doing this, students show incredible progress. What technologies should you pay attention to?

Mnemonică

Mnemonics is a set of techniques that help to better remember and assimilate information. Learning to read is the most important skill for a child, but it is equally important to be able to interpret and reproduce the information received. Memory training is the key to a child’s success in school.

One of the techniques of mnemonics is the method of mental maps, developed by psychologist Tony Buzan. The method is based on the principle of associative thinking. It allows you to use both hemispheres of the brain: the right, responsible for creativity, and the left, responsible for logic. It is also a convenient way to structure information. When compiling mental maps, the main topic is in the center of the sheet, and all related concepts are arranged around in the form of a tree diagram.

The greatest efficiency gives the use of this method together with speed reading. Speed reading teaches you to weed out the unnecessary, quickly analyze information in an exciting way using breathing and physical exercises. Elements of mnemonics can be used from the age of 8.

Mnemonics allows:

  • quickly memorize and analyze the information received;
  • train memory;
  • engage and develop both hemispheres of the brain.

Un exercițiu

Give the child pictures with a poem written under them: one sentence for each picture. First, the child reads the poem and looks at the pictures, remembers them. Then he only needs to reproduce the text of the poem from the pictures.

Conscious repetition

The educational process in schools and universities is most often arranged in such a way that after mastering a certain topic, they no longer return to it. It turns out that it flew in one ear — flew out of the other. Studies have shown that a student forgets about 60% of new information the very next day.

Repetition is a banal, but the most effective method for memorization. It is important to distinguish mechanical repetition from conscious repetition. For example, homework should show the child that the knowledge he received at school is applicable in everyday life. It is necessary to create situations in which the student will consciously repeat and use the information received in practice. During the lesson, the teacher should also regularly ask questions on past topics so that the children themselves pronounce and repeat what they have learned.

International Baccalaureate system

The top ranking of schools in Moscow and the country often includes educational institutions with the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Under the IB program, you can study from the age of three. Each lesson uses exercises for different types of tasks: learn, remember, understand, apply, explore, create, evaluate. Children develop the skill of research, there is a motivation to learn and use new information in everyday life. Tasks related to assessment teach reflection and an adequate critical attitude towards one’s own actions and the actions of other people.

The system is aimed at solving the following tasks:

  • strengthening motivation;
  • development of research skills;
  • ability to work independently;
  • development of critical thinking;
  • education of responsibility and awareness.

In the IB classes, children seek answers to worldview questions within six related topics: “Who are we”, “Where are we in time and space”, “Methods of self-expression”, “How the world works”, “How do we organize ourselves”, “ The planet is our common home.»

On the basis of the International Baccalaureate, training in various skills is built. For example, teaching speed reading in some centers for additional child development is completely based on this system. Children, first of all, are taught to perceive the text, and IB allows you to solve this problem through the understanding, research and evaluation of any text.

Project and team work

It is important for parents to know that their child feels at school like a fish in water. The ability to work in a team, to find a common language with other people is the most important skill for successful personal development. For example, an effective method is when, at the end of each module, children defend a team project on a specific topic in an open lesson. Also, the method has proven to be excellent when children are grouped into groups within the framework of the lesson and taught to interact with each other in order to achieve a specific goal.

Information is perceived much better if the child is interested in it.

Preparation of the project allows you to keep the focus on the obvious end goal and, accordingly, structure all the information received. Public defense of the project develops oratory skills. Here, acting methods are often used, developing the leadership qualities of children. Collective work is possible from 3-4 years.

Gamification

It is very important to make learning interesting. Gamification has penetrated education since 2010. Within the framework of this method, the educational process is presented in a playful way. Through the game, children learn about the world and determine their place in it, learn to interact, develop fantasy and imaginative thinking.

For example, in the «World around» lesson, each student can feel like a hero and go on an exploration of the Earth. Information is perceived much better if the child is interested in it, and it is presented in a fun way.

Gamification or socio-game pedagogy is most relevant to use from the first groups of kindergarten to grade 5. But further, up to graduation from school, the elements of these methods must be necessarily included in the educational process. An example of gamification: preparation for school can be based on a fairy tale where a child becomes an astronaut who is going to explore the universe.

Also, these techniques are actively used in the study of mental arithmetic and robotics, which allows you to master these areas faster and more efficiently.
