Sierra Sharry, a 20-year-old American, lost her fiancé when she was eight months pregnant. Lane Smith, her boyfriend and father of her baby, has died having a bad fall during a boat race. “I lost my best friend, the father of my baby, a man I loved more than life itself,” she wrote on her Facebook account. This feeling of “emptiness” as she described it, intensified when her baby was born. Six months after the birth of her son, the young mother organized a photoshoot. To revive her companion, she enlisted the help of Kayli Renne, a professional photographer who added Lane Smith to the photos. “I needed a photo of my family so my son would know that even though he is not with us physically his father is watching over us,” Sierra Sharry told BuzzFeed News. If she cried when she saw the photos the first time, she was also very moved by the support of Internet users. Indeed, on Facebook, the photographs of her and her family were shared 26 times in total. Other people have ordered the same type of shots from the photographer.
